This inviting, three-story landmark is located across from historic Colton Hall in the heart of Old Monterey. The Museum features eight galleries devoted to exhibitions of American and early California painting, photography and contemporary art.  An art reference library offers a quiet space to read and research anytime the Museum is open.  A gift shop includes creative and unusual cards, jewelry and a fine selection of books about your favorite period of art or artist and more. Wheelchair access is available at the sculpture park entrance located between Pacific and Calle Principal Streets.

Contemporary galleries complement the old-world elegance and lavish rose gardens of this gorgeous, historic estate.  Located in one of Monterey’s oldest neighborhoods, La Mirada began as a modest stone adobe in the Mexican period. It was later remodeled to become an elegant home where the great stars of silent film were entertained.  In 1994, the gallery wing was added to accommodate outstanding exhibitions that change several times a year.
