The town of Aromas California is on the border of San Benito County and Monterey County. Aromas was formerly known as Sandcut because of the tunnel constructed by the popular and famous Southern Pacific Railroad, in the late 1800’s. According to local history the name ‘Aromas’ referred to the odor of the sulfur water in this normally fragrant and exciting central California location. The Spanish history of the area states that the name ‘Aromas’ was derived from Juan M. Ausar, the Patron Saint of Love from the Spanish Christian religious faith. Regardless of where the name came from, the town of Aromas California is a sight for sore eyes and a great family destination!

Aromas California has many wonderful and well-maintained camping locations in which a family can set up camp for the night. The border of San Benito and Monterey counties offers many spots in which the family can have a great weekend camping out and sleeping under the stars, in Aromas California.
